Tip 152

Find Your Most Productive Time

by Ildar Akhmetov

A few years ago, I lived in a small town in northern India. The only time I could get online at a satisfactory speed was from 3am to 8am. So I had to adapt. I had to wake up at 3 to get any work done.

And it turned out that my productivity was... marvelous! In those five hours before dawn, while my family was sleeping, I could do the same amount of work that would normally take at least 8-10 hours.

I've been using this technique since then. Okay, maybe not 3am, but waking up at around 5am is my daily routine, and I cherish these 2-3 hours of quiet, focused work.

So, I challenge you: experiment with your time. You don't need to move to the Himalayas for that. Try moving your work to early mornings for a week. How does it feel? Then, experiment with late nights. Is it better? Or maybe you're a rare breed who functions best in the afternoons?

Run your A/B test and find your most productive time.
